  • Still waiting....

So I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow and my due date is next Thursday (October 30th).  I was hoping Isabelle would already be here by now, but looks like she's content being inside my tummy for now.  The doctor said that the latest she'd let me go would be 41 weeks, and at that point she'd have to induce me.  Hopefully it won't come to that and she'll come before that has to happen.

In the meantime, I've been working from home and dealing with my PUPPP (an itchy pregnancy rash).  I'm thankful that it's not as bad as it was in the beginning, but it can still be pretty uncomfortable especially at night when it tends to flare up.   Other than that, I think everybody is just waiting...and the grandparents to be are all on standby.

    We'll keep you posted....

  • Only 6 more weeks to go!

I just saw the doctor yesterday and I'm 34 weeks along.  I can't believe Isabelle is going to be arriving in about a month!  It's crazy how quickly time flies.  All in all...the checkup turned out fine and everything seems to be going normal.  The next checkup will be in 2 weeks.

So far, we've gotten the room almost ready with all the wonderful gifts from our shower.  Thanks to everyone who came and blessed us with gifts and well wishes.  We feel so thankful and blessed to have such loving friends and family.  We still have a few more trips to babies r us to buy a few more things, but overall the room is almost ready. We've also started taking childbirth classes to learn breathing and relaxation techniques and we also got to watch a birthing video with not just one couple, but 4 births in a row!!  Let's just say the video left us with quite an impression!

  • Babymoon!!

Earlier this month, we went on our babymoon to San Francisco, CA.  The weather was beautiful and we ate tons of yummy food!  I love how all the food is organic there!  We were also there for a wedding so we got the opportunity to hang out with some old friends that have moved to California.  Within the past 12 months, this was actually our 3rd trip to California since Andrew has family/friends there.  However, this time since we were on our own, we got to do all of the touristy stuff that we normally don't get to do, and I even got to do a special massage/facial for mommies to be.  It was great!  I think I even fell asleep during the massage.

Here are some pics of the trip:

  • 31 week Checkup

Thursday (8/28) I went in for my 31 week checkup.  Baby is doing great!   She's growing normal and is moving around more.  Now, rather than a bunch of small kicks, I can see her body moving around my stomach and sometimes her kicks can hurt my ribs!  It's so weird watching an elbow or butt or something come up high and move across my stomach and then go back down like it was never there.  It's almost like watching an alien inside your body!  It's so cool, but kind of scary at the same time!

And I only gained 4 pounds this month, which is right on track where I should be.  She will be going through a growth spurt these next few weeks so it will be interesting to see how much bigger my tummy is going to be. And I also got confirmation that I passed my diabetes test! Woohoo!!  Yay for not being put on a strict diet!!

  • 26 WEEK CHECK-UP

Monday, July 28th was my 26 week check up.  The baby's heartbeat was nice and strong and she appears to be growing right on schedule.  And I only gained 3.75 pounds since my last doctor's visit.  Not bad...since I'll probably be putting on some pounds these last few months of pregnancy as baby Fong starts to put on some fat on her lean little body.  According to the books she weighs approximately 2 pounds now!!

And next week, I'll be entering into the last trimester.  I still can't believe she'll be here in just a few more months!

I also took the diabetes test, but now I'm just waiting on the results.  They said if they call me, then I need to go back in for a more formal test.  But if I don't hear from them, then that means I'm fine.  So since the results are supposed to come back within a week and tomorrow is Friday, I'm hoping that means that I might be in the clear, but we'll have to wait and see...
